Over the weekend you may well have read articles in the news about 1066 and the battle of Hastings – in the year 1066, on 14 Oct, there was a battle between the Norman army of William, and the Anglo-Saxon army of Harold Godwinson on the south coast of England at Hastings. This battle changed the course of history of England, and some would say that it changed the country completely.
How do we know what happened at the Battle of Hastings?
We know lots about what happened because of the Bayeux Tapestry, a wonderfully detailed cloth depicting the events which happened, and famously showing Harold being killed. BUT there’s so much more to the history surrounding the battle of Hastings, and Charlie Fenton’s book “1066 & The Battle of Hastings” goes into detail about the build-up to the battle, what we know about the battle itself, and what happened afterwards. It’s a fascinating little read!
Why not give the book a try?
You can get 1066 & The Battle of Hastings HERE on Amazon Kindle or in paperback. Both are amazing value.
