WordPress 3.3 is imminent!

Posted by Tim Ridgway on December 1st, 2011 at 5:03 pm

Exciting news for us WordPress developers – WordPress have just announced that Release Candidate 1 (RC1) of WordPress 3.3 is available for use.

WordpressNormally it does not take long from RC1 to the final release of a version, so we can expect to be officially using WP3.3 before Christmas. There have been many “under the hood” improvements with this version, and we’ve been keeping a close eye on what effects these will have. The great news is that themes created by Madeglobal should all work smoothly in the new version.

What can we expect from the new version of WordPress 3.3?

  • A faster website
  • Better support for our favourite “pretty url” structure
  • Less memory leaks (not that there were many in the first place!)
  • Improved performance from custom page types and custom taxonimoies

All in all, we are looking forward to upgrading from older WordPress websites to WordPress 3.3

  2. I already see the changes in site speed. This improvement, including the special summary on what was changed once upgraded, is awesome. Good for WordPress!
